Cancer&Entry Information
Cancer Name | melanoma |
ICD-0-3 | NA |
Methods | RNA-seq, qPCR, Western blot, Luciferase reporter assay, in vitro knockdown |
Sample | HEMn-LP (normal human melanocytes, neonatal, lightly pigmented donor), A375 and A2058 (malignant human melanoma cells), and HEK 293T (human embryonic kidney cells). HEMn-LP cells (C-002-5C) |
Expression Pattern | down-regulated |
Function Description | SSATX is weakly expressed in melanoma cells. SSATX knockdown promoted the proliferation, migration, and invasion of human melanoma cells via the activation of the Wnt signaling pathway in a manner that was independent of SSAT1 expression. Based on our data, we propose that SSATX functions as a long non-coding RNA prior to its degradation in melanoma cells. |
