Cancer&Entry Information
Cancer Name | nasopharyngeal cancer |
ICD-0-3 | C11 |
Methods | qPCR, Western blot etc. |
Sample | NPC tissues, cell lines (SUNE and CNE-1) |
Expression Pattern | up-regulated |
Function Description | highly upregulated in liver cancer (HULC), the first identified lncRNA in hepatocellular carcinoma, is highly expressed in NPC patients and correlated with a poor prognosis of cancer patients. Overexpressed HULC promotes NPC cell growth. Downregulation of HULC activated p53 and induced the increased expression of p21, which finally caused cell cycle arrest and cell apoptosis. HULC acts as an oncogenic lncRNA in NPC and a potential therapeutic target in NPC treatment. that NPC patients harboring highly expressed HULC have poorer outcome than those patients with low level of HULC. |
